App Notifications
The Timeblu app for Android tells you what your clients do as it happens, so you do not have to check your email. Available on every plan. The iPhone and iPad app is coming soon.
What you are told
| Alert | When it arrives | What a tap opens |
|---|---|---|
| Booking confirmed | A client confirms their booking: the email link, a paid deposit or WhatsApp | The alert’s detail, with a button to the appointment’s day |
| Appointment moved | A client moves a confirmed appointment | The detail, with the previous time and the new one |
| Cancellation | A client cancels a confirmed appointment | The detail, with the reason and what happened to the deposit |
| Follow-ups | At 09:00 in your timezone, on the days a follow-up is due | The Follow-ups list |
| Surveys | A client answers a survey | That response, already open |
A booking with several services arrives as one alert. The text shows the client’s name and the time, never their phone number or email.
What stays silent
- Bookings still waiting for confirmation, and the ones that expire or are cancelled before being confirmed.
- What you do yourself from the dashboard, front desk mode or the assistant: alerts are only about what your clients do.
Turning them on
- Install the Timeblu app on your phone and sign in.
- Accept the notification permission when the phone asks.
You can use several phones with one account: all of them get the alerts. Signing out on a phone stops the alerts on that phone.
In front desk mode, the phone or tablet stops getting alerts until you leave the mode, so your clients never see them.
For now alerts go to the account owner. Team members do not receive them yet.
Choosing what you receive
Go to Settings > Notifications > App notifications. The block shows inside the app and, on the web, once you have signed in to the app at least once.
| Setting | Options | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Booking confirmed | On / Off | On |
| Appointment moved | On / Off | On |
| Cancellation | On / Off | On |
| Follow-ups | On / Off | On |
| Surveys | Off / All / Only negative | Only negative |
| Quiet hours | On / Off, and the window | 21:00 to 08:00 |
Every change is saved right away.
Surveys: only negative
With Only negative you are alerted when the average rating of a response is at or below your alert threshold. It is the same threshold the email alert uses, and you change it in Surveys. The default is 3.
Quiet hours
Whatever happens inside the window is held and arrives when it ends, one alert per event. Of the ones that arrive together, only the first makes a sound.
- The window follows your business timezone.
- You can move its start and end in 30-minute steps.
- With the switch off, alerts arrive at any time.
Emails do not change
The emails under Booking Notifications have their own switches and keep working as before. You can have the email off and the app alert on, or the other way round.
If alerts do not arrive
Check:
- The phone’s permission. When it is off, the block in Settings shows “Notifications are turned off in the system settings” with a button to turn them on or to open the phone’s settings. On Android you can also go to the phone’s settings, Apps > Timeblu > Notifications.
- Quiet hours: an alert from 22:00 arrives at 08:00 with the default window.
- The switch for that kind of alert.
- That you are signed in to the app on that phone.
Paused and suspended accounts receive no alerts.
