Online BookingBooking through AI assistants

Booking through AI assistants

More and more clients ask their AI assistant to handle their appointments: “book me a haircut at Barberclub on Thursday afternoon”. Your Timeblu booking page is ready for that assistant to understand it, on every plan.

What an assistant can read

When an assistant reaches your booking page it finds, without clicking anything:

  • Your business as structured data (schema.org): the business name, the address and phone if you publish them, every service with its duration and price, and a “Reserve” action with each service’s link.
  • A plain-text sheet at your-page/llms.txt (for example booking.timeblu.com/en/your-business/llms.txt) with the same in words, in the language of the address: services, opening hours if you have a mini-site, how booking works and what happens next.
  • One link per service that opens the booking assistant with that service already chosen, straight on the day and time step.

Only what your page already shows is published. If you hid the hours or a mini-site section, it does not appear in what an assistant reads either.

How the appointment arrives

The assistant does not book “on its own”: it uses the same page as any client. It picks a day and time among the free slots it sees, enters the person’s details, and the appointment lands in your calendar pending confirmation, like any online booking:

  • The person receives the confirmation email and clicks the link. Until then the appointment is pending, and it expires if nobody confirms it.
  • If the service requires a deposit, the appointment is confirmed as soon as it is paid.

So an assistant can never fill your calendar with appointments nobody asked for.

What you can do

  • Fill in the address, phone and category in Booking page: they are the first things an assistant checks to be sure it found the right business.
  • Give every service a description: the assistant uses it to choose between “Cut” and “Cut and beard” when the client is vague.
  • On the Max plan, the mini-site adds your hours and business description, and appears on Google, which is how most assistants find you.

What they cannot do yet

Assistants do not see availability outside the page: there is no public API for slots or bookings. They cannot pay a deposit for the client either; they hand over the payment link. A direct connection for assistants is in the works; meanwhile, the above works today with any assistant that browses the web.
