Holidays
Timeblu allows you to import public holidays for your country or add custom holidays. Holidays automatically block time in your calendar and prevent online bookings on those days.
Why Set Up Holidays?

Importing Country Holidays
Go to Settings
Navigate to Settings > Calendar from the sidebar.
Find Holiday Settings
Look for the Holidays or Public Holidays section.
Select Your Country
Choose your country from the dropdown. Timeblu supports holidays for 35+ countries including:
- United States
- United Kingdom
- Spain
- Germany
- France
- Italy
- Canada
- Australia
- Mexico
- Brazil
- And many more…
Import Holidays
Click Import Holidays. The current year’s holidays are added to your calendar.
Review Imported Holidays
The imported holidays appear in your holiday list. You can:
- Remove individual holidays you work on
- Keep the ones relevant to your business
Adding Custom Holidays
For personal holidays or events not in the country list:
Go to Holiday Settings
Navigate to Settings > Calendar > Holidays.
Click Add Holiday
Click the Add Holiday or + button.
Enter Holiday Details
Fill in:
- Name - Holiday name (e.g., “Office Renovation”)
- Date - The holiday date
- Recurring - Toggle if it repeats yearly
Save
Click Save to add the holiday.
Managing Holidays
Viewing Holidays
All your holidays appear in:
- Settings > Calendar > Holidays - Full list
- Calendar view - As all-day events
Editing Holidays
- Go to Settings > Calendar > Holidays
- Find the holiday
- Click Edit
- Update details
- Save changes
Deleting Holidays
- Go to Settings > Calendar > Holidays
- Find the holiday
- Click Delete or the trash icon
- Confirm deletion
How Holidays Affect Booking
When a day is marked as a holiday:
| Feature | Behavior |
|---|---|
| Online booking | Day is blocked, no slots available |
| Manual booking | Warning shown, but allowed |
| Calendar display | Shows holiday name |
| Working hours | Overridden for that day |
Working a Holiday
If you need to work on a holiday:
- Delete the holiday from your list, OR
- Create sessions manually (you’ll see a warning)

Public Holidays
Imported from country lists:
- New Year’s Day
- Independence Day
- Christmas
- Easter
- National holidays
Personal Holidays
Custom holidays you create:
- Vacation days
- Personal events
- Business closures
Recurring Holidays
Some holidays repeat yearly:
- Your birthday
- Anniversary
- Annual office closure
Toggle Recurring when creating to auto-add each year.
Multi-Calendar Holiday Handling
Holidays apply to:
- All calendars by default
- You cannot have different holidays per calendar
- For calendar-specific closures, use Events instead
Importing Holidays for a New Year
Country holidays are typically imported for the current year. At the start of a new year:
- Go to Settings > Calendar > Holidays
- Import holidays again for the new year
- New holidays are added without removing existing ones
Set a reminder to import holidays in January each year to keep your calendar up to date.

Don’t see your country? Contact support to request additional countries.
Best Practices
At Year Start
- Import new year’s holidays
- Review and remove any you work on
- Add custom holidays (vacations planned)
Quarterly Review
- Check upcoming holidays
- Plan coverage if needed
- Notify clients of closures
Before Importing
- Note custom holidays you’ve added
- They won’t be affected by imports
- Duplicates are automatically handled
Common Issues
Holiday Not Blocking Bookings
Check that:
- The holiday is properly saved
- The date is correct
- Clear browser cache if recently added
Duplicate Holidays
If a holiday appears twice:
- Go to holiday settings
- Delete the duplicate
- Keep one instance
Wrong Country Holidays
If you imported wrong country:
- Delete unwanted holidays
- Import correct country
- Or manually add needed holidays
