Creating Services

Services define the types of appointments you offer. This guide walks you through creating your first service.

Creating a Service

Go to Services

Click Services in the sidebar.

Click Add Service

Click the Add Service or + button.

Enter Basic Information

Fill in the required fields:

Service Name

  • What clients will see
  • Examples: “Coaching Session”, “Initial Consultation”

Duration

  • How long the appointment lasts
  • Select from common options or enter custom
  • Common durations: 30, 45, 50, 60, 90 minutes

Set a Color

Choose a color for visual identification on your calendar. Click the color picker and select from:

  • Blue, Green, Purple, Orange, Red
  • Yellow, Indigo, Pink, Gray, Teal

Use consistent colors to quickly identify service types on your calendar.

Add Description (Optional)

Write a description that explains:

  • What the service includes
  • Who it’s for
  • Any preparation required

This description appears on your booking page.

Configure Additional Options

Price (optional)

  • Leave blank if you bill separately
  • Set a price to display during booking

Buffer Time (optional)

  • Time needed between sessions
  • Example: 15 minutes for notes

Visibility

  • Public: Shows on booking page
  • Private: Only you can book

Save the Service

Click Save to create the service.

Service Fields Explained

Name

The service name appears:

  • In your service list
  • On your calendar
  • On your booking page
  • In client confirmations

Best practices:

  • Keep it concise (2-4 words)
  • Use client-friendly language
  • Be specific about the offering

Duration

Duration determines:

  • How long the slot is blocked
  • Time shown in booking
  • Calendar display size

Standard options:

  • 15 minutes (quick)
  • 30 minutes (short)
  • 45 minutes (therapy standard)
  • 50 minutes (coaching standard)
  • 60 minutes (one hour)
  • 90 minutes (extended)
  • 120 minutes (long)

Custom duration: Enter any number of minutes for non-standard durations.

Color

Colors help you:

  • Quickly identify services on calendar
  • Group similar services visually
  • Create a color-coded schedule

Description

Write descriptions that:

  • Explain what clients will experience
  • Set expectations
  • Include any requirements

Example descriptions:

Initial Consultation A 60-minute session where we’ll discuss your goals, challenges, and how I can help. Come prepared with questions and an open mind.

Coaching Session Our standard coaching session. We’ll review progress, work through challenges, and set action items for the week ahead.

Buffer Time

Buffer time adds a gap after each session:

  • Use for note-taking
  • Allow for overrun
  • Mental reset between clients

Example:

  • 60-minute session + 15-minute buffer = 75-minute calendar block
  • Next available slot starts 75 minutes after session start

Display Order

Control the order services appear in lists and on your booking page. Lower numbers appear first.

Editing a Service

  1. Go to Services
  2. Click on the service to edit
  3. Modify any fields
  4. Click Save

Editing a service doesn’t change existing sessions—they keep the original details.

Duplicating a Service

Create similar services quickly:

  1. Click on an existing service
  2. Select Duplicate
  3. Modify the name and details
  4. Save the new service

Deleting a Service

You cannot delete a service that has upcoming sessions. Cancel or reassign sessions first.

  1. Go to Services
  2. Click on the service
  3. Select Delete
  4. Confirm deletion

Past sessions retain the service information even after deletion.

Start Simple

Begin with 2-3 core services:

  1. Introductory/free service
  2. Standard service
  3. Premium/extended service

Add more as you identify needs.

  • Names should be self-explanatory
  • Descriptions should answer common questions
