Front Desk ModeOverview

Front Desk Mode

Pro Front desk mode is available on Pro and Max plans.

If a tablet or computer at your business stays signed in to your Timeblu account, anyone at the counter can open your reports, revenue and settings. Front desk mode fixes that: the device keeps working normally for day-to-day work - calendar, clients and services - while everything else disappears until you enter your PIN.

How It Works

  1. Set a PIN - Go to Settings > Security > Front desk mode and choose a 4-digit PIN.
  2. Activate the mode - On the shared device, open your avatar menu (bottom of the sidebar) and tap Activate front desk mode. No PIN is needed to activate.
  3. Work normally - The device shows only the calendar, clients and services. Reports, revenue, settings, the AI assistant and search are hidden, and direct links to them bounce back to the calendar.
  4. Exit with your PIN - Open the avatar menu, tap Exit front desk mode and enter your PIN. Full access returns instantly.

The mode applies per device. Your phone and laptop keep full access while the counter tablet stays restricted.

Wrong PIN Protection

Someone guessing the PIN gets 5 attempts. After 5 failures within 15 minutes, unlocking pauses for 5 minutes - even with the correct PIN - and you receive an alert email.

Clearing cookies or wiping the browser does not bypass the mode either: the restriction is anchored to your account on our servers, so even a fresh sign-in started while the mode is active begins restricted - and it shows up in the activity log as an automatically locked sign-in.

Every activation, unlock, failed attempt and PIN change is recorded in the activity log, so you can always review what happened at the counter. Open it with the View activity log button in Settings > Security > Front desk mode - it shows the latest 100 events, and the log cannot be edited or deleted. Need the full history? Contact support and we will send it to you.

Forgot Your PIN?

  • From another device (your phone or laptop, with full access): go to Settings > Security > Front desk mode and change the PIN. The new PIN unlocks the shared device immediately.
  • Lost or reset device still in the mode? From any unrestricted device, use End on all devices in Settings > Security > Front desk mode.
  • No other device available? Contact support and we will help you reset it after verifying your identity.

Signing out is not available while the mode is active - that’s intentional, so nobody can bypass the restriction by logging out and back in.

As an extra layer of protection, enable two-factor authentication in Settings > Security. With 2FA on, signing in to your account always requires a code from your phone - it protects your whole account, not just front desk mode.

On an iPad you can additionally lock down Safari’s data controls with Screen Time so browser data cannot be cleared at the counter.
