CalendarCalendar Views

Calendar Views

Timeblu offers four calendar views to help you manage your schedule at different levels of detail: Month, Week, Day, and Agenda.

Month View

The Month view provides a high-level overview of your entire month.

Best For

  • Long-term planning
  • Seeing patterns in your schedule
  • Quickly identifying busy and free days

Features

  • Shows the weeks one after another; the first day of each month carries its name, and days outside the month in the title are dimmed (on a phone, each month is its own block)
  • Sessions displayed as compact cards
  • Click a day to expand and see details
  • Scroll up or down to move through the months continuously - stop wherever you like, even between two months. The title shows the month and year that fill most of the screen
  • You can also jump a month at a time with the arrows in the toolbar, or pick a date in the mini-calendar in the sidebar. The mini-calendar follows the month you are looking at; its own arrows let you browse other months without moving the main view
  • On a phone, swipe to scroll and tap the title to jump to a specific date or back to today

Limitations

  • Limited space for session details
  • Better for overview than detailed scheduling

Week View

The Week view is the default view and shows your week in detail.

Best For

  • Day-to-day scheduling
  • Viewing session times clearly
  • Drag & drop rescheduling

Features

  • 7-day view (or 5 days with weekends hidden)
  • Hourly time grid
  • Full session details visible
  • Drag sessions between days and times
  • Working hours highlighted

Time Grid

  • Shows hours based on your configured start time (default: 9 AM)
  • Scrollable to see earlier or later hours
  • Non-working hours are dimmed

Day View

The Day view focuses on a single day for detailed scheduling.

Best For

  • Busy days with many sessions
  • Detailed scheduling
  • Reviewing a specific day

Features

  • Full detail for all sessions
  • Maximum space for session information
  • Clear time blocks
  • Easy to see overlapping appointments

Switching Views

Using the View Selector

  1. Look for the view toggle in the calendar toolbar
  2. Click Month, Week, or Day
  3. The calendar updates immediately

From Month to Day

Click on any day in Month view to jump to that day in Day view.

Moving Between Periods

Use the arrow buttons in the toolbar to move to the previous/next period (month, week, or day depending on the current view). You can also click any date in the mini-calendar in the sidebar to jump directly to it.

Going to Today

Click the Today button to jump to the current date.

Selecting a Specific Date

From the toolbar:

  1. Click the date display in the toolbar
  2. A calendar picker appears
  3. Select your desired date
  4. The view updates to that date

From the sidebar mini calendar:

  1. Use the mini calendar in the sidebar to browse months
  2. Under each day with appointments, a bar tells you how full it is: short up to 30% of the open hours, medium up to 70% and long above that. Hover over the day to see how many appointments it has and the percentage. A dot marks days with only events, or with appointments on a closed day
  3. That way you see at a glance which week is quiet; its arrows let you look at any month
  4. Click any date to navigate directly to it

View Preferences

Your preferred view is saved automatically. Timeblu remembers:

  • Your last selected view
  • Your scroll position in week/day view
  • Which calendars are visible

Pro Tip: Use Week view for daily work, but switch to Month view at the end of each week to plan ahead.

Display Options

Customize how your calendar looks:

Show/Hide Weekends

Don’t work weekends? Hide them to focus on your working days.

Show/Hide Cancelled Sessions

Control whether cancelled sessions appear on your calendar in Calendar Display settings.

Visible Hours

By default, Day and Week views show only the hours covered by your calendars’ working hours. Pick a custom range or the full 24 hours in Settings > Calendar - see Calendar Settings for how out-of-range items are handled.

Row Height and Column Width

If your appointments look too small - common on long working days with many staff columns - make the grid cells exactly as big as you like:

  1. Click the magnifier button in the calendar toolbar, next to the view selector (shown in Day, Week, and Month views; it highlights when any zoom is applied). On a phone, open the ⋯ menu at the end of the calendar header row and choose Zoom - the same three sliders appear in a bottom sheet
  2. Drag the Row height slider to make hours taller (the grid scrolls vertically), and the Column width slider to make staff columns wider (the grid scrolls horizontally)

Taller rows show more detail on each appointment (service, client, and time on separate lines). In Month view, taller rows also fit more appointments per day before the “+N more” overflow. The column slider also works the other way: below 100% it lets more staff columns fit on screen at once, which is handy on a tablet or phone - on a large screen with few calendars the columns already fill the width, so shrinking has no effect there.

A third slider, Text size, makes the appointment text itself larger (up to 150%) - independent of the cell size, so you can combine big text with compact cells or the other way around.

The small reset arrow next to each value returns that slider to its default. All three values are remembered per device and per view - your Day, Week, and Month grids each keep their own zoom, and the front-desk tablet and your phone can each use their own settings.

The side panel

From a laptop width the calendar card has a panel on its right: left is what you see, right is what you do.

  • Today is pinned to the real day, whatever week or month you are looking at. For each calendar on screen it says what is happening now: the appointment in progress and when it ends (with a Checkout button), “Free until” the next appointment or closing time, “Outside hours” or “Closed today”. Below it, the day’s agenda.
  • Search finds a client and shows their next appointments right there, beside the grid: open one to edit it, or create a new appointment for them in one click.
  • New appointment is not a panel entry: it takes the panel over while you book and, once the appointment is created or you click the X, the panel goes back to what you had. Create > New appointment, a click on a free hour and the client’s profile open it (on a phone, full screen). You book in three steps. What: add the services the client asks for (up to three) in the order they will be done and, between each two, choose back to back (same day, one after the other) or another time; you can set the specialist for each service, and choosing the client preselects their specialist from last time. When: you see the free slots of each group of services in turn, as hours day by day, grouped by week (with Show 7 more days at the end of the list, From to start on another day and, on desktop, View day and View week to take the calendar there); services back to back show as one stretch with each specialist’s initial, the ones with no wait first. What you already chose for one group is never offered to the next, because the client cannot be in two places. Summary: check the day and the hours, choose the client if you had not, tick whether to send the confirmation email and create the booking. The hours are the same ones online booking offers, including the one right after each appointment ends; Another time… at the end of the list sets one by hand. Closing it (the X, or switching to Today or Search) forgets your booking in progress, and the next New appointment starts from scratch; if you had already chosen a client or services, it first asks whether to discard the booking. ↺ clears it without closing it (with Undo). A click on a free hour opens it on that hour in one screen; see Creating Sessions.
  • An appointment’s details take the panel over too: click an appointment (or a row in Today) to see its service, day and time, the status with the price and the deposit, and the client with their visits (“3 visits · last 2 Oct” or “First visit”) and phone, with the appointment filled in its calendar’s color on the grid. Under the client, their alerts and the Client note (the one on their profile, what to know every time they come); without one, you add it with the icon next to the alert and follow-up ones. Below, Confirm or Checkout when they apply, and Notes, Reschedule and Cancel; the rest (Edit, Email, No-Show, the undos and Delete) is under ⋯. Details shows where the appointment came from (online booking, WhatsApp, manual or imported) and, under it, the Booking note when there is one (on an online booking, what the client wrote), the reminders that already went out and the forms; further down, the notes, the AI summary and the client’s Upcoming appointments: click one and the calendar goes to that day and opens its details. The X or Esc close them and you are back where you were, a New appointment in progress included. Edit and Reschedule open as a layer over the details, with the grid beside it to move it with a click; Notes, an alert, a follow-up, the client note and the survey open as a layer too. Closing it takes you back to the details, asking first over unsaved changes. Confirming, checking out or cancelling an appointment keeps its details open with the new status (Editing an appointment). On a tablet or a phone the details open over the appointment, as before.

The icons on the panel’s edge are its entries, with a badge of what is left of the day. Click the open one, or the X in the panel’s corner, to fold it to that strip and give the grid the room. Your choice is remembered on this device. On a phone the Today entry is a tab in the calendars drawer (⋯ > My calendars).
